CALL TO WORSHIP: (from Psalm 30)

Pastor Rich Cooper

O Lord, my God, I cry out for your help.

Response:

By your favor, O Lord, you established me as a strong mountain; then you hid your face and I was dismayed.

To you, O Lord, I pray earnestly and cry out. Hear, O Lord, and be gracious to me! O Lord, be my helper.

Response:

We will sing praise to the Lord, and give thanks to his holy name. For the Lord our God will turn our mourning into dancing and clothe us with joy. Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning. Thanks be to God! Amen.

Hymn 117 O God Our Help in Ages Past

Affirmation of Faith

We believe in a God who is holy, loving and good.

We believe in a God who is righteous, just and merciful.

We believe in a God who is pure, trustworthy and faithful.

We believe in a God who came to save us from ourselves so that we might live with him for all eternity.

Our God is all of this and more.

This we believe.

Amen.

Message Drawn Up From the Well

SENDING FORTH

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time, accepting hardship as a pathway to peace. Taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it.

Trusting that you will make all things right if I surrender to your will, so that I may be reasonably happy in this life, and supremely happy with you forever in the next. Amen.
