Well…I have to admit, I didn’t realize God was going to use me yesterday as one of His prophets when I talked about the 1960 Presidential race that was razor close between Nixon and Kennedy! As I type this, both sides are claiming they will win. Perhaps the only thing this race shows is how divided our nation is in its political thinking. With all that said I am going to share something light today because I think most of America is uptight, filled with anxiety, and thinking the world is going to end if their candidate doesn’t win. So, from a by-gone era when comedians made their living telling only clean jokes – some of the humor of “Red Skelton”.

“I always hold hands with my wife. If I let go, she shops!”

“I haven’t spoken to my wife in 3 months; I don’t like to  interrupt her.”

“The last fight was my fault. My wife asked me what was on the TV and I said ‘dust’.”

Red Skelton also had a wonderful philosophy about life that we would do well to ponder and laugh at today. Here are some of them:

“Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die   in the middle of it.”

“A truly happy person is the one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.”

“If ignorance is bliss why aren’t more people happy?”

“Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.”

AND FINALLY ONE THAT TRULY SPEAKS TO US TODAY:

“We could learn a lot from crayons: Some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors but they all have to learn to live in the same box.”

I pray all of us will remember that when the dust clears, all the votes are tabulated and The election is over. In the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen & Amen.
