Our Story

Holland's United Methodist Church

When schoolmaster William Holland died childless in 1809, he gave $400 “for the purpose of building a good Methodist Meeting House.” Surely, Mr. Holland had no idea his vision would someday become a church home for hundreds of families in southern Wake County. The foundation he laid for the church’s mission and focus on Christian education have remained integral parts of the church for its over 200-year history.

The following video was made 5 years ago in 2012 during the celebration of our Bicentennial.   While Holland's UMC has continued to change under the leadership of our new lead Pastor Rev. Rich Vaughan, this video captures well the ongoing, living heritage of Holland's UMC.
