Dear Holland’s Family,
The love of Jesus in me greets the love of Jesus in you!
This coming Sunday Pastor Rich will be preaching for our worship services. The sermon title is “An Extraordinary Change” and the preaching text is John 2:1-11.
You will remember this story as being the one that when it takes place this happens: “Jesus did this, the first of his signs, in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him” (John 2:11). In the Gospel of John Jesus’ divinity is revealed through a series of signs. As noted, at a wedding feast in Cana, is where the ordinary water of the day became the richest of wine. Jesus spoke it to be so and it was – indeed, an extraordinary change.

Jamie Norton, from Ohio and the author of several books, was our guest on a Wednesday evening earlier this year. We have arranged for Jamie to be with us again on Sunday morning, October 30. Jamie will speak at the 8:30 and 11:00 services (there will be no 9:45 service that day). Following each service she will have a book signing of Secrets from the Third Pew. Jamie has a caring and compassionate heart for those who are hurting and a strong belief in the healing process. Jamie is passionate in her belief that Jesus comes in through our wounds and offers opportunity for hope, peace, restoration and growth.
She has been an affiliate with Grace Church in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, for the past 13 years and oversees the counseling and recovery ministries. Jamie received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Carolina in 1963 and her Master’s Degree from N.C. State University in 1972. After almost 35 years of working as a licensed counselor, trainer, program director, and consultant in almost every public and private behavioral health setting at the local, state, and national levels, Jamie began working in Christian settings through the NC State Baptist Convention in 1990. She currently offers Making Peace Retreats and workshops in several states in addition to her work with Grace Church.
We look forward to having Jamie Norton with us. Please feel free to invite others to join us for these two special services of worship.
